We arrived in London yesterday. We are staying in a place that I got at the last minute because the place I rented six months ago had a flood. A fantastic location, a bit of the old fart feel but it has the essentials and we can unpack. Last night we had a shabbat dinner with a family that lives in London. It was absolutely lovely. So nice on many levels.
This morning, we got up and had to fill the fridge. The best place to go on a Saturday morning is Borough Market. A foodies paradise. Sandwiches, salads, sweets, drinks, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, breads, coffee, wine, cheese....anything you can think of for consumption. The market is located at the London Bridge tube stop. Including a mixture of stores in and around the market. Open only Thursday - Saturday. Our next trip will be on a Thursday...less frenetic. We bought the makings for dinner. Josh was cooking.
Dinner is ready. Fillets of sea trout with thyme, orzo ( from Spoletto ) mixed with roasted golden beets and pan fried zucchini with a splash of balsamic vinegar, caprese salad with prosciutto on the side and sauteed green beans with spring onions. Pretty damn good for Josh's first meal. I might get used to this.
